I am the director of RB Retail & Licensing Services Limited. I am at heart a retailer, having worked in the industry for over 30 years, I understand retail and the pressures retailers face day to day. I have worked for large national & international companies, I have run medium sized businesses and I have operated as an independent, owning my own chain of convenience stores. In short I have seen life on both sides of the fence i.e. corporate and independent. I understand how important it is to have people you can rely upon and trust.
For the last 15 years I have operated as a licensing specialist working closely with the retail sector under initially the old 1964 Licensing Act and more recently the Licensing Act 2003, which came into force in November 2005.
I am here to help you obtain and maintain your Personal and Premises licence and you will find my pricing is highly competitive.
RB Retail & Licensing Services Limited can also assist with your commercial planning application. Competition is fierce throughout all areas of the retail sector especially with those that sell/provide alcohol as part of their offer. The customer is king and business must do all they can to ensure their offering meets and exceeds the needs and expectations of their customers.
Most operators now agree that to limit the range of goods sold in an outlet (such as the traditional CTN) will in time lead to a decline in business opportunities as specialist shops become more and more outdated replaced with stores providing a greater emphasis on convenience & top up shopping.
Therefore, for many in that position, there is now a realisation they must offer more to survive. A good alcohol range combined with grocery lines will, for many, offer their business some considerable relief.
Customer expectation when entering smaller stores is no different to their expectations of the largest grocery operators. The Public in the main expect all shops to offer all product categories including alcohol so they can complete their purchases under one roof at one visit. Take a look at this 'sales by category' pie chart.
